Dale Thomas Bishop, 56, of Wakefield, KS passed away on March 3, 2010 at Geary Community Hospital. A visitation will be held for him on Thursday, March 11, 2010, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS. No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be given to an organization of donor's choice in his name.
Dale was born January 12, 1954, Orange, TX to Dale Jackson and Goldie (Hemlick) Bishop. He joined the Army June 18, 1973 and received the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Driver Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Mechanic Badge, Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), the Army Commendation Medal, Sharpshooter (M-16 Rifle) and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon he was honorably discharged from the Army as a SGT on May 12, 1986. He then worked for M & L Electric.
He married Diane M. Trank July 16, 1975, Lebanon, PA.
He is survived by his wife Diane of Wakefield, KS, one son, Steven Bishop and his wife Rebecca of Manhattan, KS and one daughter, Debbie Bishop of Prairie Village, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
