Dale Gatza, 63, of Junction City, KS passed away at Geary Community Hospital on April 1, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Parish with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Scripture services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. with visitation to follow from 6p.m. to 7p.m. at the parish.

Memorial contributions have been designated to the St. Francis Xavier Foundation, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441 and the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441.

Dale was born October 1, 1949 in Junction City, KS to Richard Gatza and Marjorie Gfeller Davis. He graduated from Junction City High School class of 1967.

He married Kay Schippert in November of 1972. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. Dale served as a Finance Specialist in the United States Army from 1969-1971.

Dale worked at Fort Riley from 1977-2005. He was a Management Analyst at Irwin Army Hospital when he retired.

Dale was a member of the Elks Club and served as secretary for 10 years and was the scholarship chairman for many years. He was treasurer for Sertoma Club and was named Sertoman of the year in 2011. He was very active in class reunion planning and enjoyed his classmates. He was an avid bowler on the men's league for 36 years and had a new interest in golf since retirement. Dale was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.

Dale is survived by his mother and stepfather Marj and Webb Davis and his wife Kay all of Junction City, he is survived by his daughter Lindsay Bourisaw and husband Jeff and son Reece of Manhattan. He is also survived by his step-sister Karen Flynn (Dennis) of Overland Park and sister-in-law Theresa Gatza of Junction City. He was also close to many of his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Daryl.
