Cynthia Joe Wallace, 55, of Junction City, died Oct. 13, 2015 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Topeka. Cynthia was born Jan. 6, 1960 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Dave Evans & Josephine (Herron) Willams. She attended schools in Chicago, and graduated from Farragut Academy High School in 1977. She later received her Associates Degree at Barton County Community College. She was a member of the New Church of The Living God.
Cynthia had worked as a Cashier at the Commissary on Ft. Riley and later became the Human Resources Representative at the Civilian Personnel Operations Center on Ft. Riley.
She married Leon Wallace on Nov. 28, 1995 in Junction City. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Shavonya Banks and husband Eric, Junction City; 2 brothers, Willie Evans and David Evans, both of Chicago; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Walker, Calif., and Thelma Williams, Chicago; 4 grandchildren, Germell White and wife Ashley, Shaquan White, Kavashia Banks, and Jonathan Jones, all of Junction City; a great-grandson, Jaden White; 3 nephews, Dornesius Williams, Earl Williams, and Derrick Williams; and a niece, Angela Jamerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Lavie Williams; a brother, Alvin Williams; and 3 sisters, Linda Williams, Lula Williams and Gloria Williams.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at The New Church Of The Living God, Junction City, with Pastor James E. Johnson presiding. Burial will follow at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley, Manhattan. A wake will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to New Church Of The Living God. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, Junction City is in charge of arrangements.
