A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel for Chief Warrant Officer 2 Calvin Jones (Ret), 77, Junction City, Kansas. Pastor Brad Seifert will officiate. Mr. Jones passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. A visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel 805 Caroline Ave. Interment with full military honors will follow the service at Fort Riley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd. St. Louis, Missouri 63131.
Mr. Jones was born August 12, 1929 In Wellington, Ks the son of Gustavia A. and Mattie Dale (Ford) Jones. Calvin served 22 years in the U.S. Army and 20 years in Civil Service in the Logistics Supply Division, Supply Branch at Fort Riley. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He was Mason and a Shriner. He coached the 18 and over Baseball League for many years.
Calvin was married to his wife Barbara E. Cockrell Baker February 14, 1954 in Junction City, KS, she survives at the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, James Baker, Foley, AL, Kevin Jones of Junction City, Kansas and Kendall Jones of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, B. J. Roberts Junction City, KS and Janeen Goble, Kansas City, MO; brother David Jones Santa Monica, CA; sister Kathryn Tabor, Norfolk, VA; 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
