Curtis L. Walker, Jr., 43 of Junction City passed away on Tues., Jan. 6, 2004 at the Mercy Health Center in Manhattan. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thurs., Jan. 15 at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel in Junction City. Burial will be at the Fort Riley Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will be prior to the service. Rev. Mervyn E. Hammond, Jr. of the Faith Covenant Christian Center will officiate.
He was born on July 6, 1960 in New Brunswick, N.J., the son of Curtis L. and Mary E. (Walton) Walker, Sr. He was a graduate from New Brunswick High School, and had attended two years of college.
He has been a resident of Junction City for the past 17 yrs. He was an E-6 when he retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years. After the military he worked for Armour Swift-Eckrich meat plant and also a security guard for Walmart. He was a member of the VFW.
He was married to Crystal McBride on Sept. 6, 1978 in New Brunswick, N.J. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Curtis L. Walker III, of Kansas, Curtis L. Walker IV of Colorado and Curzuil D. Walker of Kansas, eleven daughters, Lashonda D. Mosley of Hawaii, Rozalyn R. Walker of Minnesota, Shanell Haynes of Kansas, Laretha Walker of Minnesota, Taesha Walker, Aisha Walker, Tiffany Walker, Shamone Walker, Kaira Walker, Nykeysha Walker and Tamia Walker all of Kansas, one sister, Rose Moss of Hillsborough, N.J., seven grandchildren, Mother-in-law, Judy McBride, four sister-in-laws and five brother-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Julia C. Riggins.
