Graveside services for Crosstromer "Big Cross" Johnson, Jr. 84, Salina, KS formerly of Junction City, Ks will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2009 at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Johnson passed away May 7, 2009 at Salina Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 8:30am until service time at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. 805 Caroline, Junction City, KS. Cross was born April 5, 1925 to the late Crosstromer Johnson, Sr. and Emma Silas in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He came to Junction City, KS in 1955 after serving time in the U.S. Navy. He also served in World War II where he served on a Frigate in the South Pacific.
Cross owned and operated C&R Record shop on Ninth Street in Junction City. While residing in Junction City he met a fell in love with our mother Dianne Clardy.
She along with a son Crosstromer Johnson, III preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories.. Three children; Michelle Delgado, Donald Hudson, and James McDade all of Junction City,KS; Fifteen grandchildren; Adrian, Ajiaga, Alisha, Anthony, Brianna, James, Andrea`, Aric, Daija, Nathan, Brianna, Marcus, Tyler, DeAundre, and Shelton; seven great-grandchildren; Brothers and Sister-in-laws; Silas, Ollie, Jimmy Ray, Wynona, Racy, Silas, and Juanita; a host of relatives and truly, truly, truly, good friends.
