She attended Grant Elementary, Dunbar Middle, and Phyllis-Wheatly High schools. She married Earl Sylvester Pruitt in 1960. Of that union, her three children were conceived. Earl was stationed in Incirlik, Turkey by the United States Air Force in 1981. There Mrs. Johnson was a child caregiver in her own home. She enjoyed spending time with children. She and her family returned to the states in 1982. The union between Earl and Corine was ended in 1983. In 1988, she married Leo Johnson. He passed away the following year.
Corine Johnson received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in her living room at 934 Spring Park in San Antonio, Texas in 2005. She moved to Junction City, KS in June of 2006 and became a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church. She is known to her church family as "Grandma Johnson." Grandma Johnson enjoyed baking cookies, cobblers, cakes, and other sweets. Grandma Johnson loved her church family dearly and the sentiment was returned by her church family. She volunteered her time at Apostolic Academy to teach Home Economics to the younger girls. She often baked her famous cookies and dispersed them un-discriminately to families in the church. When Grandma Johnson loved, she loved sincerely. She will be greatly missed.
