Connie Mae Rider, 71, of Junction City, died July 1, 2015 at Geary Community Hospital. Connie was born August 23, 1943 in Piketon, Ohio, the daughter of Conie & Willa Mae (Salyer) Chandler. Connie attended schools in Ohio, and moved to Junction City over 20 years ago.
Connie enjoyed growing flowers, cooking, and being involved with grandchildren's activities.
Connie married Jack Rider in Ohio. They were later divorced.
Survivors include: her partner, James Christenson, Junction City; a son, Jeff Rider and his wife Mary, Andover; a daughter, Pamela Weyer and her husband Doug, Saluda, Virginia; 2 brothers, Larry Chandler, Waverly, Ohio, Robert Chandler, Calif.; 2 sisters, Debbie Newberry, Piketon, Ohio, and Violet Robinson, Columbus, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Cory and Haleigh Rider, and Douglas Weyer. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Eugene Rider in 1963; 4 sisters, Ilene Short, Dovie Rider, Esther Faye Chandler, and Virginia Lee Snyder; and 2 brothers, John Chandler and Eddie Chandler.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends, Sunday, July 5, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Fund, Kansas State University Foundation, P.O.
