Clyde Robert "Bob" Taylor
Passed away January 19, 2009 at Geary Community Hospital, Junction City, KS at age 78, Clyde was born September 26, 1930 to Claude and Violet (Bybee) Taylor in Bristow, Oklahoma. At age 17, he joined the US Army, He fought in the Korean War and departed with decorations after nine years of service at the rank of Sergeant First Class.
In 1950, Clyde married Dorothy Wernecke. She preceded him in death in 1966. To them were born four children.
Clyde began working on the railroad in 1957, retiring after 35 years.
In 1975 Clyde married Barbara J. Dresslar, she survives. Clyde and Barbara, or better known as Bob and Bobbie, joined their families and spent a wonderful 35 years together. Together they adopted and cherished Buster, until and after Buster's passing.
Clyde is survived by his children Clydene(Tom) Rauch, LaRonda (Vance) Smith, Belinda (Dennis) Anstey, Suzan (Danny) Ford, Mike (Janice) Post, Dale(Colleen) Taylor, Val (Rebecca) Taylor, Stacy (Dan) Campbell, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters.
Clyde spent many years in Kansas, living in Topeka, Belleville, and Hutchison. He and Barbara then moved to Dalhart, Texas and retired to Florence, Arizona, In 2007 Clyde returned to Kansas, residing in Dickinson County north of Chapman.
Clyde loved all of his family, his many friends, the country, fishing and his gardens. Although we will miss Clyde, he would like us to remember that this is not goodbye, and that we can all look forward to a blessed reunion with him in heaven.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00am at the Second Missionary Baptist Church 701 W. 10th Street, Junction City, Kansas 66441 with Dr. Leonard Gray officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Missionary Baptist Church. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
