Clara Eileen Irvine, 86, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on January 3, 2024, at Valley View Senior Living surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 23, 1937, to Robert and Nadine (Kershner) Schonberner in Junction City, Kansas. While in high school, she was involved with the band and baton-twirling clubs. This is also where she met her future husband of 68 years. Her and Paul married August 24th, 1956, here in Junction City and raised their family for their remaining years.
After graduating in 1955, from Junction City High School, Eileen found a job on post as a dry-cleaner. Shortly after her time on post, she found herself in a career in finance. She held a management position with Central National Bank until her retirement.
Once she found herself retired, she had more time to spend with her family. Some of these activities included gardening, camping, and spoiling her grandchildren. Eileen also found more time to help her beloved community of Junction City by being apart of the Pink Ladies, being a Cub Scout Leader, part of the P.T.A. Board with Washington Elementary, and leading her bible school youth class.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband, Paul Gaylord Irvine II; three children, Donald Irvine (Kim) of Junction City, Kansas, Patricia Irvine of Salina, Kansas, and Jeffrey Irvine (Lynda) of Salina, Kansas; five grandchildren, Kyle Irvine, Justin Irvine, Sean Schuff, Madyson Irvine, Marcella Middleton; seven great-grandchildren, Myla Irvine, Parkyr Gorman, Estella Middleton, Marley Rose Middleton, Richard Middleton, Nalleli Middleton, Jovie Irvine and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded by her mother and father; three brothers, Robert E. Schonberner, Joeseph Schonberner, and Jack Schonberner; four sisters, Grace Young, Roberta Tully, Jean Terrio, and Anna Holston.
Memorial contributions are suggested to go to St. Jude's or The Wounded Warrior Project.
A visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will follow at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 12:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
