A Mass of Christian Burial for Christopher "Chris" L. Kramer, 25, of Alta Vista, KS will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Deacon Dick Kramer and Father Al Brungardt officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 30th, 6-8 p.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church with a vigil service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ogden, KS. Chris passed away January 26th in Pottawatomie County due to injuries sustained in a construction accident. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been designated to the Abbigail Louise Kramer Fund at Central National Bank.
Chris was born December 26, 1983, Manhattan, KS to John A. and Retta A. (Davis) Kramer. He was a 2002 graduate of Chapman High School and later attended Kansas State University. He owned and operated Kramer & Associates Excavating and had recently started working directly for Reid Plumbing in Manhattan.
Chris was a huge animal lover and cherished his dogs and cows and loved farming. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed fishing with his grandpa and teasing his grandma. The most recent joy in his life was his daughter Abbigail "Abbi" Louise. Chris had a wonderful spirit and he will be missed so much by his family and his many, many friends.
He is survived by his parents John and Retta Kramer of Milford, KS, his maternal grandparents Larry and Lou Davis of Shawnee, KS, his daughter Abbigail of Wichita, KS, his girlfriend Casey Swartz of Alta Vista, KS, his three sisters; Sarah Ellis-Schmidt and husband Jim of Hesston, KS, Mandy Kramer of Kansas City, MO and Cory Durbin and husband Matt of Ithaca, NY, two nieces; Rylie Ellis and Elaina Schmidt, his nephew; Elijah Schmidt, an extended loving family and caring friends too numerous to count.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Lawrence and Helen Kramer.
Pallbearers will be Clint Kramer, Becky (Kramer) Stone, Kim (Kramer) Elwood, Sandy (Kramer) Hoff, Sarah (Kramer) Ellis-Schmidt, Mandy Kramer, Billy Dieball and Mitch Marston.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cory (Kramer) Durbin, Jim Schmidt, Matt Durbin, Ryan Ressler, Jason Gustafson, Jorgan Beck, Billy Crable, Mike Chawrous, Mike Poppe, Barb Shaw, Eric Eickholt, BJ Davis, Matt Davis, Heather Medlin and Margie Allenbrand.
