Christina was born May 5, 1969, in Hempstead, NY the daughter of Jerry and Ruthann (Sanders) Purdie. She was the youngest of two children.

Christina graduated from Hueytown High School in 1987. She joined the Army in 1987 and honorably discharged in 1995. While in the service, Christina gave birth to three wonderful children, Christopher, Eric, and Nikita. She also attended Bessemer Technical College in Bessemer, Alabama. In 2001, Christina brought the family to Junction City, Kansas, to visit her sister and ended up establishing herself within the community.

This position advanced her to other positions at Westwood including a paraprofessional and student support monitor. She left nearly a sixteen year legacy of employment at Westwood Elementary. She was very involved in many children's lives with participation in the Boys and Girls Club of Junction City and the Summer Fun Club.

Christina gained new employment working at Konza Prairie Community Health Center in 2016 as a medical receptionist. Her drive and determination pushed her to advance to a medical records clerk. She was relied on by many, and continued to develop flourishing relationships.

Christina was a believer in many things that included her faith, family and those she considered friends. She always put others before herself. She had a unique way of making their pain hers and was happy to see other people happy. She was known to many as their second mom and was always a listening ear.
