Cherryl Bruce, 76, of Wakefiled, KS, formerly of Milford, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021.

Cremation has taken place.

She was born on March 31, 1945, Iowa City, Iowa to Franklin Edward and Lila Mae (Patterson) Odell.

Cherryl's first job in Junction City was at Peter Pan Ice Cream. She received an Associates Degree as a Dietician and worked over 20 years at the Geary Community Hospital. She later worked at Eckridge Meat Plant until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Cherryl enjoyed cooking, especially baking. She also enjoyed games including Bingo and cards. She truly loved associating with people through personal visits.

On September 6, 1963 she married Thomas Bruce in Ames, IA.

She is survived by two sons, James Bruce and wife Diedra of Herington, KS and John Bruce and companion Jayme Stites of Milford, KS; one daughter, Pamela (Bruce) Reece of Wakefield, KS; one brother, Clair Odell and his wife Alice of Davenport, IA; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; son Joseph Bruce; son-in-law Bobby Breese; daughter-in-law Susan Bruce and one grandson Casey Rathbun.

Johnson Cremation, Funerals and Receptions of Junction City, is assisting the family with arrangements.
