Charlotte Marie Cope, 62, of Junction City, passed away on August 17, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center, Topeka, KS.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Michelle Jenkins will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Following the services, a Celebration of Life will be held from 4pm to 8pm at the Elk's Lodge, 723 S. Washington St., Junction City, KS 66441.
She was born on February 8, 1960, Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania to William and Patricia (Wise) Wertz.
Charlotte worked at the Walmart Super Center in the Deli Department for years and had recently been working at the Walmart Neighborhood Grocery, where she was recently promoted to Academy Trainer. Charlotte was a giving person and would do anything she could to help someone. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and she was an animal lover.
On August 10,1983 she married William "Bill" D. Cope, William and Charlotte lived in Junction City, Kansas.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Bill of Junction City, her son Michael (Kieya, Fiance') Stevens of Topeka, KS; her three sisters, Sharon (Rusty) Taylor of Junction City, KS, Debbie (Jim) Roach of Tingley, IA, and Cindy (Jamie) Mullins of Schertz, TX; her brother, David (Angela) Wertz of Lawrence, KS; Six grandchildren, Christopher Stevens, Paris Stevens, Jonathan Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Cyrus Stevens, Ellie Stevens, and one on the way; Great-Grandchild, Mercury Haralson and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Wertz.
