Memorial services for Charles L. Kirk, 78, of Ogden, KS will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City with Father Al Brungardt officiating. No visitation is planned. Mr. Kirk passed away at Geary Community Hospital on January 14, 2010. Memorial contributions have been designated to St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Kirk was born December 26, 1931, St. Joseph, MO to Lee Francis and Carrie Elizabeth (Morris) Kirk. He served in the U. S. Air Force retiring as a SFC. Following his time in the U.S. Air Force he worked as a salesman for Beanall Electric Supplies for many years. He married Gloria Jessie in 1951 and they later divorced. He came to Ogden in 1978. He worked for KCI Road Runner for 35 years as their Office Manager and was employed there at the time of his passing. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Eagle's Lodge.
He is survived by his sons, Carey Kirk and wife Mary of Litchfield Park, AZ, Elliott Kirk and step-son Larry Kirk of Travis Air Force Base, CA, three daughters, Jean, Charisse Widner and Dawn Miller both of St. Joseph, MO and step-daughter, Cristy Collins of Catalina, AZ, sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
