Charles R. "Charlie" Grimes, 45, of Junction City, KS, passed away on December 28, 2019. Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City is assisting family with cremation arrangements.
A Celebration of Life Gathering of close family and friends will be held on January 25, 2020 at 1:00pm at 200 State Ave., Grandview Plaza, KS, 66441.
Charlie was born on July 5, 1974, in Conway, Arkansas to Joe and Judy (Ussery) Grimes. With his father's military obligation they moved to many duty stations. After his parents separation, he ultimately settled in Junction City, Kansas graduating in the class of 1992 from Junction City High School. He later drove truck. Due to a heart condition, he retired from trucking, but he did not stop being active. He met and married a young lady named Sharon, and they had three daughters: Jessica, Sara, and Winter. Charlie and Sharon later separated, but always remained close friends. Charlie had many interests and hobbies that included but are not limited to: zombie hunting, end of the world prep, and being all around awesome.
He will be dearly missed.
Charles is survived by his loving family: three daughters, Jessica B. Rose of Mountain View, AR, Sara M. Vanhorn of Greenbrier, AR, and Winter A. (Ezra Adamson) Grimes of Mountain View, AR; his wife Sharon Grimes of Mountain View, AR; his mother Judy G. Birchem of Greenbrier, AR; his step-mother, Vivian Grimes of Junction City, KS; 5 Grandchildren; two brothers, Keithin J. (Amanda) Grimes of Junction City, KS, and Christopher M. (Cathe) Sacher of Abilene, KS; sister, Rosalee A. (Antoinette) Sacher of Junction City, KS; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Pat Grimes.
