Graveside services for Tech. SGT.Charles "Charlie" Edward Zeik, 73, (Ret) US Air Force, of Junction City, KS will be 11:00am Monday, February 26, 2007 at Fort Riley Cemetery with full military honors, with Rev. James Callaway officiating. A Celebration Of Life service will follow at 12:30PM at First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS. Mr. Zeik passed away February 17, 2007 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2007 from 9:30am-10:30am at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church 624 N. Jefferson Junction City, KS 66441.
Charlie was born September 22, 1933 in Fort Benning, GA to Andy and Lois (Hobson) Zeik. After growing up in Junction City he served in the US Air Force and retired with 22 years of service. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for many years . He loved to fish and in 1993 he purchased Bigguns Bait Shop near Milford Lake, running it until 2002.
He was a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church in Topeka for 20 years and a present member of First Baptist Church, Junction City.
Charlie married Patsy Ann Proctor May 13, 1961 she survives at the home.
Other survivors include his children; son; Chuck Zeik, Silver Lake, KS; daughter Susie Schwanz, Topeka, son Andy Zeik Ozawkie, KS, son Jim Zeik, Spokane, WA; sister Carolyn Mentzer, Beaverton, OR. and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Tammy Jo Zeik and Mary Louise Zeik
