Charles E. Lawhorn

Charles E. Lawhorn, 75, of Junction City passed away at Geary Community Hospital on August 7, 2011. Visitation will be held at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Friday, August 12th from 6p.m. to 7p.m. with a memorial service from 7p.m. to 8p.m.with Pastor Leonard Gray officiating. Inurnment will take place at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions have been designated to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604.
He was born January 1, 1936, Shatfield, AL to Hollis Y. and Lora (Willie) Lawhorn. He served as an instructor in the U S Army and later retired from the United States Army Reserves as a MSG. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his mother Lora, his wife Lorraine of Junction City, four daughters; Cassandra, Zoe and husband Adam, Sevmek and husband Gerald and Jewel all of St. Louis, MO, five brothers; Michael, Roy, Marvin, Marcus and Sona all of Detroit, MI, sisters; Hattie, Lisa and twins Jean and Dean, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and four siblings; Julia, Jimmy, Norman and Adriel.
