Celina L. Vincent, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Concelebrants will be Fr. Peter O'Donnell and Fr. Kyle Berens. A visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 PM. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to St. Xavier Catholic Church P.O. 399 Junction City, KS 66441.
Celina was born January 1, 1934, in Antonito, CO, the daughter of Elipeo and Lyla (McCaron) Lucero. She has lived in Junction City since 1968. Prior to her move to Junction City she lived in Indianapolis, IN, Darmstadt, Germany and Fort Riley, KS while her husband Gerald served in the United States Army.
Celina worked as an Administrative Assistant at Fort Riley for many years. Celina grew up in Antonito, CO near the New Mexico Border. She graduated from the Antonito High School. She attended the Blair Business College in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She worked as a hospice volunteer in Junction City.
She married Gerald Vincent September 23, 1954 at Fort Gibson, CO. He passed away September 26, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.
