Cecilia Marie Masek Dixon, 85, of Junction City, passed away March 12, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2004, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 vigil at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial service will be Saturday, March 20, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441, and/or Good Samaritan Center, 416 W. Spruce St., Junction City, KS, and/or Geary Community Health Care Foundation, Saline County Dialysis Junction City Unit, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
Cecilia was born July 15, 1918, in Odell, NE, the first of five children of Frank and Anna (Zarybnicky) Masek. After graduating from Odell High School in 1936,
she attended Chillicothe Business College in Missouri. Cecilia worked as a bookkeeper in Junction City and then in civil service at Smokey Hill Air Base in Salina, KS during WWII. She married John Paul Dixon on January 15, 1946 at St. Xavier's Catholic Church in Junction City. They owned Dixon Distributing Company, a distributor for Guy's Foods, until Paul's death in 1973. Cecilia was a Customer Services Officer for ten years at Central National Bank until her retirement in 1984.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Weber and husband John of Milford; Mary Stull and husband Francis of Cedar Rapids, IA; John Dixon and wife Carmella of Mountain View, CA; Thomas Dixon and wife Sharon of Longmont, CO; LuAnn Dixon and husband Malcolm Burns of Lawrence, KS; Michael Dixon of Manhattan, KS; Paula Dixon and husband Thomas Vincent of Lacey, WA; one sister, Anna Dohleman of Annadale, VA; two brothers, Edward Masek of San Jose, CA, and Frank Masek of Lincoln, NE; eight grandchildren, Robert, James, and Joseph Weber; Julia, Paul, and Kristina Dixon; Trevor and Tristana Vincent; and two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Caleb Weber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Charles Masek.
