Catherine Jane Kiefer

Catherine "Cathy" Jane Kiefer, 60, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Johnson Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Boy Scout's of America or to the National Kidney Foundation.

Cathy was born December 21, 1960 in Junction City, KS the daughter of Albert and Beverly (Edney) Lichtenhan.

She graduated from the Junction City High School with the class of 1979. After graduating from high school, she went to work for United Telephone Company in Junction City. She later went to work for Footlocker. Due to health reasons, she retired from Footlocker in 2000.

She married Xavier "Buster" Kiefer February 27, 1981 in Junction City, KS.

Survivors include her loving husband Xavier of the home in Junction City; one son, Tyler Kiefer and his finace Becca Willis of Omaha, NE; one daughter Ashley Kiefer and her fiance Curtis Coates of Junction City, KS; one brother Ronald Lichtenhan and family of Manhattan, KS; two sisters, Marie Hance and her husband Mike of Council Bluffs, IA and Patty Aska and her husband Cecil of Junction City, KS; three brother-in-laws Wayne Heller and his wife Roxie of Junction City, KS and Terry Heller and wife wife Sue of Old Fort, N.C. and Gary Yelton of Auxasse, MO; one sister-in-law Jenny Noah and her husband Donald, Sr. of Olathe, KS; one grandchild on the way in October and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law Willis and Delia (Demars) Kiefer, brother Dennis Lichtenhan and sister Christine Lichtenhan; brother-in-law Larry Heller and sister-in-law Debbie Yelton.
