Carolyn Ann Grant, 69, of Junction City, KS passed away on November 9, 2017 at Salina Regional Health Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017, from 12:00 pm. to 2:00 pm. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street.
Funeral services will be held immediately afterwards.
Interment will follow services at Highland Cemetery in Junction City, KS.
Carolyn was born on July 25, 1948 in Junction City, Kansas to Denievel and Connie (Oakry) Grant. She was a lifelong resident of Junction City. She graduated from Junction City High School and began work at the Social and Rehabilitative Services in Junction City. After over 20
years of dedicated service there, she retired and moved on to work at Fort Riley as a contractor specializing in "In and Out Processing" of military personnel. She worked in that field for over 10 years and took second retirement. She was a very active woman and decided to keep active by working at the Daily Union as a Courier/Distributor. Carolyn was always on the move.
Carolyn was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and caring friend. She had vast interests. She enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, and was an avid sports fan. Carolyn would watch entire games of various genres. Her interest in sports stemmed from when her sons played sports.
She will be dearly missed.
Carolyn is survived by: her two sons Eric D. Grant of Wichita, KS and Troy W. Grant of Lansing, KS; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 brothers Jimmy Grant of Junction City, KS and Steve "Tyrone" Grant of Manhattan, KS; 3 sisters Donna Brown of Emporia, KS, Trixie Grant of Junction City, KS, and Laverne Lucas of Junction City, KS; and a host of loving family and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, Connie and Denievel Grant, 2 brothers William and Denievel Grant Jr. and 1 sister Cathy Carthen.
