Carol Maud Tiesing, 89, Pratt, KS formerly of Junction City, KS died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the South Wind Hospice House in Pratt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow the services at Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Carol was born December 22, 1923, in Cook County Chicago, IL the daughter of Edward and Lillie Elizabeth (Grassberger) Snyder. She resided in Chicago until 1929 until she moved with her family to Junction City. She also resided at various military installations in the United States as well as tours in Japan and Italy.
Carol graduated from Junction City High School in 1941. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Junction City, Geary County Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Carol worked for Central National Bank for 34 years. She retired December 31, 1991, as the Vice-President of Administration.
She married Berthold "Buzz" U. Tiesing June 4, 1944 in Junction City he preceded her in death May 8, 1987.
She is survived by two sons, Rodger Tiesing of Pratt, KS and Stephen D. Tiesing of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by two brothers, Eugene E. Snyder of Arkansas City, KS, Ralph L. Snyder of Topeka, KS and two grandsons, Tyler and Brandon, three granddaughters, Tally, Elizabeth and Lisa and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
