Carl Steven Meadows

February 22, 1960 — February 11, 2020

A beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Cousin and Father, Carl Steven Meadows, 59, of Clay Center, Kansas left this world on February 11, 2020 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.

Carl was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on February 22, 1960 to Earl and Joan Meadows. At an early age his family moved to Reseda, California where he grew up surrounded by a host of dear and cherished family members and friends. He attended Garden Grove Elementary School, Northridge Junior High School and Grover Cleveland High School. He was a proud Class of 1977 Cleveland Cavalier. In Carl's youth he was an amazing baseball player and an all-around happy soul. He often spoke of many fond memories of growing up in the San Fernando Valley. In his early twenties he worked as an Aviation Machinist and was later blessed with two beautiful daughters, Katie and Kristi Meadows, of whom he spoke of daily and missed dearly. Carl later moved to Kansas in the late 90's and made Clay Center his home. His world focused around his family, taking care of his cat Zocar, missing his late pets Smokey(Cat) and Bandit(Dog), daily calls to his father and checking in with his brother(Gary) and sister-in-law(Charlene) on how his two nieces, Jessica and Cassidy, were doing along with all the pets. Carl was a fanatic about listening to Classic 70's Rock and had a memory of dates like no other. He looked forward to every holiday, birthday, family dinner along with summer barbeques. Carl's father, Earl, took great care of him and was there for him no matter what and will deeply miss his multiple daily calls. A blessing and memory he will cherish in his heart forever. Gary and Carl had a strong brotherly bond that will remain thru eternity. The last conversation the brothers had went as such:

Gary: We gotta stay strong buddy, you hear me

Carl: Yea

Gary: You know some day we will be in heaven and won't have to worry about any of this sickness and you will get to see Mom.

Carl: Yea I know

Gary: You remember when Mom used to take us to church?

Carl: Yea

Gary: And you still believe in God, don't you?

Carl: Yea

Gary: You know Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, right?

Carl: Yes

Gary: Let's Pray…Dear Heavenly Father….

Carl: God Bless Mom and Dad, God bless my brother Gary, Charlene, Jessi and Cassi, God Bless Kristi and Katie….

Gary: It's in Jesus Name we give all praise and pray…Amen

Silence….

Gary: And you know it is thru him that we get to go to heaven

Carl: Yea….Well…So how are we gonna get there?

Gary: On the wings of Angels

Carl: …..Cool!

Gary: I love you Bro

Carl: Love you too Bro

Carl is preceded in death by his mother, Joan Meadows, and leaves behind his father, Earl Meadows of Milford Ks, His big brother, Gary(Charlene) Meadows of Milford, KS, his nieces, Jessica Meadows(Texas) and Cassidy Meadows(Topeka Ks), and his daughters, Kristi and Katie Meadows.

When We Ask Why

God's purpose and plan
Is sometimes concealed,
But someday His purpose
Will be revealed.

Someday God's wisdom
Will make it very plain
Why problems were permitted
And how He uses pain.

Things thought illogical-
Disease, tragedy, fear-
Will someday make sense
When God makes all things clear.

We'll see the Lord's purpose
From the Lord's point of view,
And we'll know the answers
In ways we never knew.

Until we're home with God
Some answers must wait.
Until His plan unfolds
We're called to live by faith.
