Callie Ann Byington, 80, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Brown will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to The Gideon International or First Baptist Church.
Callie was born March 8, 1939, in Junction City, KS the daughter of Paul Clyde and Eunice L. (Jennings) Henderson. She has lived in Junction City her entire life.
She married Marshall Heath. They divorced. She married Kenneth Byington March 5, 1967. Kenneth passed away February of 2001.
Callie was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Awanas. She was also a member of the American Baptist Women's Ministries, sixty year member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the local chapter of Gideon International,
Callie had a love for children and was considered "Grandma Callie" to many She loved going to grandchildren's sporting events and was an avid Kansas State and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Callie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include one son, Barry Byington of Spokane, WA; two daughters, Gwin Kline of Junction City, KS and Karee Byington of Bellevue, WA; one sister, Jerri Gibson of Seneca, SC; four grandchildren, Megan Shoffner of Junction City, KS, Jessica Shoffner of Philadelphia, PA, Rebekah Aldrich of Spokane, WA and Justin Byington of Pullman, WA; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cooper, Tabitha, Finn, Sam and Geo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Dwain and her husband Kenneth who passed away February of 2001.
