Funeral services for Callie B. Shetter, 91, Junction City, will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 10:30am at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction city, KS with Reverend Paul Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Shetter passed away September 21, at Alterra Sterling House in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to Homecare and Hospice, 323 Poyntz, Manhattan, KS and or United Methodist Women, 804 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441.
Callie was born October 15, 1915 in Gorin, MO the daughter of Elmer C. and Lottie (Dauma) Simpson. She was a resident of Abilene, Ks and moved to Junction City in 1966. Callie was a homemaker and had worked in dining area of Junction City High School and Geary Community Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Junction City, United Methodist Women and a 27 year member of EHU. She also had been a member of Eastern Star.
She was married to Gaylord A. Shetter April 26, 1932 in Abilene, KS, he preceded her in death May 13, 2001.
Callie is survived by: her daughter Mary Jane Riffel, Junction City, KS, daughter in law Judy Shetter, Topeka, KS, sister Glenadeen Curtis, Independence, MO; four grandchildren, Thaine A. Shetter,Princeton, New Jersey, Tracy L. Shetter, Wichita, KS, Timothy L. Riffel, Flinton, PA, Gregory A. Riffel, Peoria, IL.
Also preceded in death by her parents, one son Lyle T. Shetter, four brothers Roscoe Simpson, Lloyd Simpson, Ivan Simpson, and Floyd Simpson.
Pallbearers will be Ed Piepergerdes, Vincent Simpson, Greg Riffel, Tim Riffel, Thaine Shetter, and Tracy Shetter.
Organist will be Judy Hofer. Vocalist will be Rick Munson.
