Going Home Services for Brilliantine "Britt" Succelia Satterwhite, 68, of Junction City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue with Dr. Leonard Gray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Satterwhite passed away Monday, November 22, 2010, at Irwin Army Community Hospital.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604 and the American Diabetes Association, 10580 Barkley Ste. 400, Overland Park, KS 66212 and the Christian Family Adoption, 2222 SE Pennsylvania Avenue, Topeka, KS 66605.

She was born March 30, 1942, Silverstreet, SC the daughter of Clarence and Mamie Ezell (Smith) Wilson.

Mrs. Satterwhite worked in the Laundry Management Services at Irwin Community Hospital at Fort Riley, Kansas for over 46 years. She was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church and in years past had served as treasurer, she was also a member of the NAACP and AFGE Local Union 2324.

Mrs. Satterwhite was a devoted wife, mother, neighbor and friend. She and her husband resided in Junction City for over 46 years.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws which are all serving in the United States Air Force, Robert L. Satterwhite and his wife Octavia of Sicklerville, NJ and Ossian Satterwhite, II and his wife Chantal of Azores, Portugal, one sister, Mickey Smith-Eggleston of Dacula, GA, two brothers, James Henry Cannon, Jr. of Silverstreet, SC, and Llellwyn McTavish and his wife Daisy of Junction City, KS, eight grandsons and a host of nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, SFC Ossian Lee , one brother, Clarence Wilson, Jr. and one sister, Bessie Mae Davis.
