Brandon Shavar Runnels, 34, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Brandon, affectionately known as "B-Runn", was born October 19, 1986, in Junction City, Kansas to Cedric P. and Barbara A. (Watts) Runnels.
Brandon was a very happy child, who had a smile that would brighten any room he entered. He always looked forward to family gatherings, fun times with friends, and summer vacations.
During his early years, Brandon went to Washington Elementary and Junction City Middle School. He continued at Junction City High School and graduated in 2005. While attending Junction City High School, B-Runn took part in the summer Upward Bound program, sang in the school choir, played football and basketball, and most importantly made lifelong friends.
The friendships Brandon made were very important to him. He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, watching movies, having long talks, and just hanging out with his friends. His love of music was evident, as he helped to manage some of his friends' music endeavors.
B-Runn was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He also loved the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. When given the opportunity, Brandon jumped at the chance to coach and referee various children's sporting events, with his mom, at the Junction City YMCA.
Regardless of how long or short the time people knew Brandon; he made a huge impact on their lives, and he was willing to help anyone he came in contact with. He had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone.
