Services for Beulah Maxine Brockman, 83, of Junction City will be Monday, December 12, 2005, 2 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Roberts of the First Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Brockman passed away December 7, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Brockman was born September 9, 1922, in Hymer, KS (Chase County) to George C. and Mary L. (Miller) Veal. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1939. She married Frederick C. Brockman April 12, 1941, in Wichita, KS. They resided in Junction City where they owned and operated Brockman Liquor Store for over 20 years. Mrs. Brockman also worked as a Purchasing Agent for the Club System at Fort Riley for 13 years before she retired January 30, 1985.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority for about 10 years.
She is survived by her husband Fred of Junction City, one son, Gary L. Brockman and his wife, Kim of Shawnee, KS, and her two grandchildren, Sarah Todd and her husband, Matthew in Lawrence and Laura Brockman in Fairway, KS; her sister-in-law, Carlene Veal of Abilene, KS and a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jeffery (1951, infancy); two brothers, Fred and Raymond Veal.
