Funeral services for Betty Mae Canaday, 79, Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at First Christian Church, 1429 St. Mary's Road with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Betty passed away May 1, 2010 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor's choice. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Betty was born June 9, 1930 in Blackwell, OK the daughter of William and Irma (Lockhart) Coates.

Betty worked as a clerk in the County Treasurer's Office. She was a member of First Christian Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty loved to collect dolls.

Betty married Loyd Canaday April 23, 1947 in Wellington, KS, he survives of the home. She is also survived by four children, Thomas Dale Canaday of Leavenworth, KS, Tracy Dean Canaday of Abilene, KS, Terry Canaday of Junction City, KS and Tamara Diane VanAllman of Tacoma, WA; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Geraldine Coffee, granddaughter, Tiffany Canaday and great-granddaughter, Tressa Canaday.

Pallbearers will be Rich Van Allman, Chris Ruff, Tim Canaday, Jeff Canaday, Mark Canaday and Troy Mayne.
