Memorial services for Betty Dianne Hodgson, 74, of Branson, MO will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Hodgson passed away December 14, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to a charity of your choice.

Betty was born on June 27, 1935, in Junction City, KS, daughter of Walter and Annie Fiest Glessner. She was raised on a farm in rural Geary County near Alta Vista. She graduated from Manhattan High School in May of 1953. She married Donald Frank Hodgson in August of that same year, they lived in Wymore, NE and while there she attended and graduated from Beatrice Beauty School in Nebraska and then moved to Wetmore, KS where she raised their three sons and was a hairstylist and assisted Don in managing his veterinary clinic.

She was active in her sons' school activities, was in a bowling league and was an active member of the Wetmore Methodist church. Upon Don's retirement they resided in Mesa, AZ and spent much time traveling in their RV. They settled in Branson and have lived there the past 10 years. Betty was an avid K-State fan, enjoyed round dancing, loved being a grandmother and staying active.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, of the home; sons; Thomas and wife Leticia of Lawrence, KS, Michael and wife Elaine of Overland Park, KS and James of the home; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother; Roland Glessnerand his wife Esta of Junction City, KS and friend and caregiver Lynda Ronnberg.
