Betty L. Bush, 84, of Junction City, KS, moved to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan, KS. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at the Second Missionary Baptist Church. The Reverend Dr. Leonard Gray will officiate. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel 805 Caroline Ave. Burial will follow the funeral service at Fort Riley Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Betty was born January 7, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Vernon and Pecola Perkins. She relocated to Junction City with her husband Ronald who served in the United States Army.
Betty graduated from high school in Toledo, OH. She worked for Geary Community Hospital having retired in 1992 as a surgical technician. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church; Order of the Eastern Star; Daughters of Isis as well as many other organizations.
She married Ronald A. Bush on October 3, 1953. He passed away June 27, 2006.
Other survivors include one son: Sylvester Bush of Junction City, KS; one granddaughter: Trace Johnson and her husband Raymond of Topeka, KS; three great-granddaughters: Autayvia, Rayana and Evonne; one niece: Collette Holley of Toledo, OH; two great nieces: India and Ashley; one great nephew Isiah. She is also survived by a host of many family and friends in Ohio and Kansas.
