Services for Bettie Mae Roesler, 82, of Junction City, will be Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Zion United Church of Christ at 11a.m. with Pastor Russ Glaser officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Roesler passed away August 19, 2005 at Valley View Professional Care Center. Memorial contributions may be given to the Zion United Church of Christ, 1811 McFarland Road, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or Highland Cemetery, 703 W. Ash, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. Roesler was born April 5, 1923, Rural Geary County, KS to Amos Ralph and Violet Mae (Taylor) Horner. Mrs. Roesler was a graduate of Junction City High School, class of 1941.
She married Herman Roesler December 14, 1941, Junction City, KS. She was an active mother, farm wife and community member and resided in Geary County her entire life.
She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and she was active in Church Women United, Geary County Extension, 4-H, Historical Society American Cancer Society, and many other organizations including her participation in organizing Class Reunions for the "Class of 1941". Mrs. Roesler was featured in two National Publications, "Young Woman" 1947 and "Better Farming" 1955.
She is survived by three sons, Steven Roesler of Junction City, David R. Roesler of Los Angeles, CA and Ronald Roesler of Stephenville, TX, one daughter, Joyce Hyder of Woodinville, WA and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman, June 16, 2000 and one younger brother, Andrew Jack Horner.
Pallbearers will be Tom Roesler, Daniel Roesler, Chad Roesler, Brian Hyder, Matthew Hyder, Erik Eickholt and Paige (Roesler) Krause.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Alice Cross, Bill Gustafson, Don Eickholt, Bill Eickholt, Art Horner and Tom Fish.
Organist will be Ramona Printz-Smith and Vocalist will be Rick Munson
