Beth Louise (Altwegg) Miller, 97, of Junction City, passed away on November 14, 2016 at Geary Community Hospital.
She was born west of Junction City, KS to Fred and Florence (Tietze) Altwegg on July 18, 1919. She attended the Acker country school and graduated from J.C. High School in 1937. She attended Emporia State Teachers College (now Kansas State Teachers College). She worked in Topeka as a secretary in the Brand Commission until she met and married Melvin Miller June 17, 1945 when he was serving in the army. They lived in Los Angeles where Mel worked with the Santa Fe Rail Road. After retirement, they moved back to Junction City, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Melvin "Mel" Miller Oct. 10, 2004.
She is survived by sister Kathleen Altwegg Acker of Tempe, AZ; nephews Bill (Jan) Acker of Phoenix, AZ and Phil (Melodie) Acker of Tempe; great-nephews Nick and Andrew Acker of Tempe, great-niece Becky (Travis) Renner and their four children of Gilbert, AZ. She also leaves many friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Zion United Church of Christ with Pastor Nikki Woolsey officiating, burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial to be held at St. Johns Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to the Zion United Church of Christ, 1811 McFarland Rd., Junction City, KS 66441.
