Bernadee L. Gauntt, 73 of Wichita, KS. passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita on July 5, 2004. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel in Junction City. Pastor Matthew Glasgow of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Junction City.
She was born December 31, 1930 in Junction City, the daughter of Dewey and Clara Johnson Gauntt. She had lived in Augusta, KS for over 35 years before moving to Wichita.
She had taught second grade for over 35 years in Wichita, and she was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She attended elementary and high school in Junction City and received her bachelors of science and masters in education from Wichita State University. She was certified as a nurse from St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita
Survivors include two brothers, Calvin Gauntt of Milford, KS and Virgil Gauntt of Junction City, KS and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Violet Ostland, two brothers, Harry Gauntt and Herbert Gauntt.
Pallbearers will be Bryan D. Gauntt, Bryan C. Gauntt, Mark Gauntt, Mike Gauntt, John Gauntt and Aaron Weaver.
