Belinda (Snookums) Ann Kittling, 59, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on December 13, 2024, at Stormont Vail - Flint Hills Campus.
Belinda was born on October 22, 1965, to James M. Chalmers and Dorothy Ann Hammonds in Augusta, Georgia.
SGT Belinda enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1987, going to basic training at Fort Jackson. Both her husband and two sons would serve their basic training at the same place. She served her country honorably for nine years and was a Desert Shield and Desert Storm combat veteran. She will receive military honors at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
Belinda always placed an emphasis on education. She was known as a professional student by her husband. Belinda was a double major and on the Dean's List in Business Administration and Social Services, graduating a year apart but walked for both of them at the same ceremony. Shortly after graduating, she pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sylvester; one son, Sylvester (Yvonne) Orlando (JayR) Kittling, Jr.; four grandchildren, Sylvester Orlando (Trey) Kittling III, Ayannah Yvonne Kittling, Zimiah Daveigh Yvonne Kittling, and Ma'Kai Orlando Kittling; her mother, Dorothy Ann Hammonds; two brothers, Gregory (Shuntel) Hammonds and Dexter Hammonds; two sisters, Sharon Hammonds and Candice Chalmers and a host of other loving family and friends.
Belinda was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Carl Hammonds; one son, David Edward Kittling.
Memorial contribution are suggested to go to 2nd Missionary Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held at Johnson & Mass Hinitt Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Second Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
