Beatrice A. "Bea" Bratton, 63, of Junction City, KS, departed this life on May 28th, 2014, in Manhattan, KS.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, June 1st, 2014, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Junction City. A funeral service will be held to celebrate her life at 12:30 pm on Monday, June 2nd, 2014, also at the church. A short graveside committal will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
Bea was born September 3, 1950, in Phillipsburg, KS, to parents Wilhelm and Doris (Watkins) Krause. She went to school and graduated from Phillipsburg High School.
Bea attended beauty school after completing high school. During her time in beauty school, she met William Bratton, Sr., who was stationed at Ft. Riley. He proposed to her on New Year's Eve in 1969, and they married in February of 1970. To this union were born four children. The family enjoyed going camping, and took many happy family vacations in Colorado.
Throughout her entire life, family was always the most important thing to Bea. She was proud of her family and loved caring for others. She was a strong and faithful Christian, and enjoyed working in the Church. She taught Sunday School, helped with the youth, and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was also a Girl Scout troop leader. Bea was a life coach to many, always full of wisdom and good advice.
She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. She was also an avid "stamper" with the OZ-some Inkers, and her signature stamp was a bumble bee. She enjoyed playing Bunko, and spending time with her friends. Bea loved to scrapbook and put together photo albums of her family roots.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, aunt, baby sister, mentor and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Bea leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving Husband, William; her three Daughters, Renee A. (Eddie) Williams of Killeen, TX, Monica L. (Richard) Baker of Pratt, KS, Regina L. (Terrance) Craddock of Junction City, KS; a Sister, Sylvia (Leslie) Swarts of Phillipsburg, KS; and an Aunt, Wilma Watkins of Prescott, AZ. She also leaves behnid many nieces, nephews, and other friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by both parents; an uncle, Donald Watkins; a nephew, Mike Swarts; and her son, William M. Bratton Jr.
