Barbara Lou Salzman

Barbara Lou Salzman, 87, of Milford, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held November 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church. Pastor Will Ravenstein will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Illinois.

Barbara was born on February 6, 1935, in Lincoln, Kansas to Lyle and Louise (Marshall) Gorton.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Barbara graduated from Marymount School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas in 1956. She worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois. After moving to Kansas she worked at Valley View Senior Life Nursing Home. She also worked as a home health nurse for a couple years.

On September 30, 1956, she married Ervin 'Jack' Salzman. They were married for 64 years. Jack passed away on June 8, 2021.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Don) Stevens of Milford, Kansas; four sons, Steven (Renee) Salzman of Randolph, Kansas, Allen (Kathy) Salzman of Falun, Kansas, David (Sumae) Salzman of Wichita, Kansas, and Robert (Judy) Salzman of Wheeling, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and one brother, Richard Gorton.
