November 14, 1920 — September 30, 2015

Auguster Davis Sr., 94, of Junction City, KS, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015. He was born November 14, 1920, in Como, Mississippi.

He is survived by wife Mirriam "Ana" Davis. His legacy continues through daughter Lolly (Jeff) Hetherington and sons Auguster "Gus" Davis, Jr., Jessie (Vanessa) Davis and Roland Davis in addition to grandchildren Linda, Michael, Leslie, Andrea, Nicola, Mark and Jackie and ten great-grandchildren.

Sergeant Davis was a WWII veteran and lifetime member of the William Leroy Talbot, Post #8773 Veteran of Foreign Wars. With over 29 years of honorable service, Sgt. Davis proudly dedicated himself to his country. He served bravely in Europe, Vietnam, Korea, the Philippines and Indochina, receiving numerous accolades which include the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Award (3) and the Overseas Service Bar (5). This is the place where life-long friendships were nurtured, family was celebrated and memories were made (many at Milford Lake). At the same time, family and friends in his hometown in Mississippi had a special place in his heart and he often returned home to visit and share his blessings.
