Audrey Beulah Schippert
The funeral mass for A. Beulah Schippert, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from
6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. The Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Foundation and sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441.
A. Beulah Schippert 83 died May 28, 2005, at the Geary Community Hospital.
She was born February 4, 1922 in Pawnee, Oklahoma the youngest daughter of Edward and Minnie Belle(Shook)Christensen.
Beulah Schippert and her husband John owned and operated several businesses in the Junction City area including John's Car Wash, the Rambler Motel, Cheep Chicken and Schippert's Liquor store. They were in the mobile home sales and service business for many years. Schippert wrote mobile home insurance polices and dispatched mobile homes. She also owned and managed a number of rental properties.
Schippert was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a strong
supporter of the school and the athletic activities. She was a member of Circle III and the Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary
Schippert was a philanthropist who contributed to the support of the St. Francis Xavier Foundation, the Geary County Historical Society, Geary Community Hospital and other local organizations.
Schippert married Charles L. Rathbun in 1940. Charles died in a car accident in 1944. She married John F. Schippert in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by thirteen brothers and sisters: Eva Taylor, Vivian Snyder both of Delhi, California, Bertha Grimm, Sylvia Hutchinson both of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Wayne Christensen and Cora Belle Christensen both of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Cecil Christensen and Edward Christensen of Yakima, Washington, and Guy Christensen, Faye Hodge, Leota Witt, Christina Williams and Clarence Christensen all of Junction City.
She was also preceded in death by one son Stephen L. Rathbun and one granddaughter, Lezlie Rathbun also of Junction City.
Schippert is survived by one daughter, Kay Gatza of Junction City, one sister, Irene Ocamb of Salt Lake City, Utah and one brother Ralph Christensen of Yakima, Washington, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Christensen, Willard Christensen, Scott Hutchinson, Christian Silva, Kenneth Witt and Robert Witt.
Musicians will be Anita Hernandez and Joan Keating
