Arthur Grossnickle

Arthur "Art" Grossnickle, 78, of Junction City, departed this life on March 22, 2013 in Junction City. He was born on August 27, 1934 in Middletown, Maryland.
Art served in the United States Army for over 22 years. He served in Vietnam, where he fought diligently for his country's freedom and for the freedom of others. Art was a skilled and efficient member and non-commissioned officer (NCO) of the signal corps. Other duties included serving in Germany as a member of the honor guard.
After serving in the military, Art went on to own his own business, Reliable Small Engines in Junction City, Kansas. Individuals throughout the community were familiar with his business' clever catch phrase : "Be smart, call Art!"
He had a unique sense of humor, and always spoke his mind. He was a good man. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his many friends and fellow soldiers.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel at 203 N. Washington St. Junction City, KS. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery in Manhattan, KS, with full military honors.
