Funeral services for SSG (Ret) Arlemie Bellamy, 88 of Junction City will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue with Pastor James Johnson officiating. A graveside service for Mr. Bellamy will take place 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006, at the Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 30, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Mr. Bellamy passed away at Geary Community Hospital on October 25, 2006. Mr. Bellamy was born February 2, 1918 Madison, FL the son of Hillard and Pearlie (Alexander) Bellamy. Mr. Bellamy resided in Junction City since 1957. He retired from the US Army in 1961 and was the head chef at the Holidome in Manhattan, KS before retiring in 1983. Mr. Bellamy was an avid fisherman, gardener and had a love for cooking.
He married Maudie Lee Hooks in December 5, 1937. She preceded him in death March of 1992.
He is survived by his son Kenneth Wayne Bellamy, Sr. of San Diego, CA, daughter Marie -Louise Van Voorden of the Netherlands, three brothers, BD Bellamy of Union, NJ, Robert Bellamy of Milwaukee, WI, Hillard Bellamy, Jr. of Stone Mountain, GA, one sister Beatrice Lightsey of Douglasville, GA, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and devoted friend, Marcelle Adams.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
