Annie Louise Strahl, 84, formerly of Junction City, died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Center in Enterprise. Annie was born September 1, 1935 in Selma, Alabama, the daughter of William T. & Lillian (McKinney) Newsome.

Annie attended schools in Selma.

Annie was a long-time manager of the Holiday Inn Restaurant in Troy, Alabama. When her health started to decline, she moved to California to be closer to her son and daughter. She eventually moved to Junction City, where her youngest son was stationed in the U.S. Army.

Annie married Richard P. Strahl, Sr. in 1957 in Selma, Alabama. They were later divorced.

Annie is survived by her 2 sons, Steve Strahl and his wife Lynne, Bakersfield, California, and David Strahl and his wife Tammy, Junction City; a daughter, Pamela Ferguson and husband Larry, Porterville, California; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard P. Strahl, Jr. in 1994; and 4 brothers.

Cremation is planned.

A Celebration Of Life Gathering will be at the home of David and Tammy Strahl on Thursday evening, Sept. 12, 2019, 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Enterprise Estates Nursing Center, 602 Crestview Dr., Enterprise, Kansas 67441.
