Anneliese Butler, 89, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A visitation and celebration of her life will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home, 805 Caroline Ave. Inurnment will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery Pastor Ronnie Roberts will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
Anneliese was born January 7, 1926, in Bamberg, Germany.
Anneliese worked for a Class Six at Fort Riley for many years. She also worked for the Disabled Veterans' Thrift store in Junction City and was a beauty consultant for Merle Norman. She served as the Sunday School Director for twenty years at the Forsyth Chapel at Fort Riley. She spent hours volunteering for the Republican Women's League and for the Fort Riley NCO's Wives. She loved to accompany her husband and family on fishing excursions over the years.
She married James A. ButlerJanuary 28, 1958, in Bamberg, Germany. He passed away December 18, 2014.
Survivors include two sons, Dieter Kunz of Berlin, Germany, Carl Butler of Sierra Vista, AZ, two daughters, Cornelia Butler of Junction City, KS, Eva Sanderson of Frederick, MD and two nieces, Christine Glass of Westampton, NJ and Sabina of Germany. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
