Ann Marie Black, 80, of Junction City, died Monday, September 23, 2019 at her home. Ann was born January 30, 1939 in Demopolis, Alabama, the daughter of John W. and Beatrice (Catlin) Young.

She grew up in Demopolis, where she attended schools there and graduated from Demopolis High School in the Class of 1956. She later attended Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Alabama.

Ann moved to Junction City with her husband, Harrison, who was in the U.S. Army in 1971. While they were stationed in Germany, Ann was very active with the Eastern Star.

She worked for over 20 years as a Budget Analyst on Ft. Riley.

Ann attended Second Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City.

Ann married Harrison Black on October 11, 1958 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Ann is survived by her husband Harrison, of the home; 2 daughters, Leona M. Black-Walker and Harriet D. Black, both of Junction City; and a sister, Clara Martin, Jacksonville, Florida, 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Edward Young, John Young, and Robert Young; and 2 sisters, Nannette Giles Bessemer and Gloria Minnicks.

It was Ann's request to be cremated and have no services. Inurnment will be at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley, Manhattan, KS.
