Funeral services for Anita I. Estes, 65, of Junction City will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington with Rev. Derek Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday, June 2, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Estes passed away May 29, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Estes was born Anita Isabelle Crowe in Fordland, Missouri to Leaford and Alberta "Bertie" (Kinser) Crowe. She grew up in Missouri, attending and graduating from Fordland High School.
She married Walter R. Evers, they later divorced.
She married William "Bill" Estes on October 15, 1985 in Junction City. She spent all her married life in Junction City.
Mrs. Estes was employed at Mobile Travelers, Woolworths, Mike's Fire Extinguisher Service, and Pepsi Co. of Salina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Estes, a daughter; Kelly Matkinson Evers, her parents; Alberta "Bertie" Stinnett and Leaford Crowe, and a brother; "Shorty" Crowe.
Mrs. Estes is survived by two daughters; Debbie Brown of Junction City,KS, Tina Berta of Tennesse, one son; Gary Evers and wife Charlene of Salina, KS, three brothers; Larry Crowe and wife Linda, Wayne Crowe and wife LaVerne, both of Fordland, MO, Chris Stinnett of Kansas City, KS and Kevin Kinser of Springfield, MO, five grandchildren; Ashley Brown, Lori and Tony Evers, Duane Landon, Jennifer Everett, Jake and Coty Adkins, three great-grandchildren; Michelle Wunder, Denise Landon, Payton James Edwards, five great nieces and nephews; Cameron and McKenzie Crowe, Cersandra Crowe Cogdill, Hailey and Madison Crowe, and several nieces, newphews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jody Crowe, Larry Crowe, Stewart Crowe, Wayne Crowe, Tony Evers, Lori Evers, and Duane Landon
