Angel Rivera

Angel Manuel Rivera Martinez, 69, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Via Christi in Manhattan, KS. A Funeral Mass will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Father Peter O'Donnell will officiate. A visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel 805 Caroline Ave. A Vigil Service will take place at 7 p.m. that evening. Cremation will follow the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Cancer Society 1315 SW Arrowhead Road Topeka, KS 66604.

Angel was born October 16, 1946, in Utuado, Puerto Rico the son of Angel M. and Maria I. Rivera (Martinez).

Angel retired in 2010 from Hewlett Packard in Puerto Rico. He moved to Junction City after his retirement. He enjoyed baseball, boxing and playing dominos. He was a New York Yankees Fan.

He married Nancy Gonzalez. She passed away in 1993. He later married Iris Morales in 1999. They divorced in 2010.

Survivors include one son, Gerardo M. Rivera and his wife Rosalinda of Aguada Puerto Rico; two daughters, Johanna E. Noriega and her husband Jose and Gisselle Y. Rivera both of Junction City, KS. He is also survived by one brother, Jose A. Rivera and three sisters, Angeles Porrata, Maria Rivera and Annie Rivera all of Puerto Rico; four grandchildren, Paola Noriega, Adrianna Wilson, Kermit Rivera and Geraldine Rivera; one son-in-law Brad Wilson.
