A memorial service for Alvin (Al) L. Gose, 63, Junction City will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Pastor Cheryl Mickey officiating. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. Mr. Gose passed away May 2, 2009 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. Alvin was born August 2, 1945 in Frankfort, KS, the son of John Earl and Thelma Ruth (Betterton) Gose. They preceded him in death.
Al was employed by Boogarts for 22 years. He worked for Boogarts in Marysville, in Abilene as a Meat Market Manager, and in Concordia as a District Manager. He also worked as a realtor for John Summers & Co. in Junction City. Al was a current member and past trustee of the Elks Lodge #1037 and former member and past officer of the Abilene Elks Lodge.
On June 3, 1991 he was united in marriage to Debbie Lazear in Rocky Mountain National Park at Estes Park, CO. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include his children Sherie and husband Dana Bronson, Abilene, KS, Jeffery and wife Amy Gose, Ellsworth, KS, Dr. Jon and wife Mitzi Gose, Abilene, KS, Nicholas Moreland, Junction City, KS, and Lindsey and husband Efrem Winder, Stanfield, OR, sisters Louise Herring, TX, Leota and husband William Wassenberg, Marysville, KS, Betty Zimmerman, Washington, KS, and brothers Johnnie (Jack) and wife Lillian (May), Falls City, NE, Jerry, Topeka, KS, Donald and wife Deborah of Winfield, KS, and David and wife Dianna, Waterloo, NE, thirteen grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
