Alva Dean Cameron, 80, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. No memorial services are planned. The cremated remains will be buried at a later date.
Alva was born January 31, 1938, in White City, KS, the son of Alva James and Jessie Marie (Plott) Cameron.
Alva served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960 having being discharged at the rank of E-5. After being discharged from the Army, he went to work for the United States Civil service working in the Medical Supply Division at Irwin Army Community Hospital having retired in the early 1990's. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to country music on the radio and reading the Ellery Queen series.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Cameron of Milford, KS, Ryan Cameron and his wife Veronica of Chesapeake, OH; one daughter, Rhonda Cameron of Manhattan, KS; two sisters, Dorothy Kirkland of Batesburg, SC and Rosie Wallace of Ocala, FL; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Leo Cameron, two sisters, Avis Sampson and Adeline Blair, and one daughter-in-law Lynn Cameron.
