Allen Joseph Robin

Allen (Al) J. Robin, 87, formerly of Junction City, died Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Holly Heights Care Center in Denver, Colorado. Al was born Sept. 27, 1931 at Leonville, Louisiana, the son of Frank R. and Theresa (Larumand) Robin. He graduated from Opelouses (LA) High School. Al joined the U.S. Army right after graduation and spent 3 years in the Army, being Honorable Discharged in 1958 with the rank of Corporal.

Al worked in commercial construction most of his life, and also was a talented musician. He had a band called Al Robins and The Wagoneers.

Al was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Earl C. Gormley, Post #45 of The American Legion.

Al married Arleen G. Thiel on October 21, 1978 in Junction City. Arleen preceded Al in death on Sept. 11, 2005.

Al is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Ann Stowell and husband Roger, Denver, Colorado, and Barbara Ann Schultz, Denver, Colorado; a step-daughter, Dawn Jensen and husband Rob Steuhrk, Centennial, Colorado; 3 step-sons, James Thiel and wife Terry, Solomon, Steve Thiel, Denver, Colorado, and Gary Thiel and wife Donna, Littleton, Colorado; a brother, Raymond J. Robin, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and 3 sisters, Gerris Hollier, Lafayette, Louisiana, Agnes Swain, St. Genevieve, Missouri, and Aleenie Wheton, Port Arthur, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Adam Stowell, David Stowell, Dennis Schultz, Stephanie Schultz, Samantha Schultz, Chad Schultz, and David Thiel; and 4 great grandchildren, Avery Stowell, Faith Stowell, Mason Schultz, and Kryslyn Schultz.

Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Military Honors will be provided by the Dwight D. Eisenhower V.F.W. Post #3279 Honor Guard from Abilene.

Johnson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given in Al's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
